Missing my scooter in California!

August 13, 2006 at 4:49 pm (Uncategorized)

Well, I’m in California this week…in particular, San Franciscco. I am loving this weather. I have been doing the usual touristy things, of course. I walked around Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf for the longest time. From there, you can also see Alcatraz. The trolleys were everywhere – packed out (with my fellow tourists, I’m sure)! I made the mistake of renting a car…don’t do this! First, I was lost (go figure). Then, there was the traffic and the parking. All of a sudden, a guy on a moped scooter whirls past my car (b/c of course I’m at a complete stand-still). I get a bit jealous as he is cruising right no through…and I imagine he’s not having the same issues parking either. I tried to parallel park (not so easy on those hills) only to be told I couldn’t park there. So I bit the bullet and paid $20 to park! Boy was I wishing I had my scooter with me then. So, my friends in California (or any major metropolitan area who regularly experiences these same frustrations)…do yourselves a favor and get a scooter. Your stress levels will plummet! I look forward to reuniting with my scooter!!

Electric scooter…Assembled!

August 4, 2006 at 3:33 am (Uncategorized)

So my new electric scooter arrived. The box was so big and heavy, I was thankful it was the FedEx guy’s job and not mine to lug it up to the house. Well, of course, I was so excited to actually get my eyes on this scooter that I just ripped the box apart opening it. The scooter was pretty much put together, so I immediately was able to picture myself riding around. It was so pretty, and bigger than I had imagined. I ordered the smaller version of the electric scooter as a sort of test…to ease myself in to this whole scooter mania, you know. My mom, thankfully, happened to be there when my scooter arrived so I volunteered her to help me assemble it. It didn’t take too long once we got going. I always find that when I try to assemble anything, this scooter included, I want to immediately jump to the last step in the instructions. I don’t care if the nuts and bolts are tightened completely…which is why I’m thankful my mother was here. After tightening a few bolts, sliding the seat post in and putting the trunk box on…we were ready to go. Now, for my first ride on my beautiful electric scooter!

Electric Scooter…Any Day Now!

July 19, 2006 at 1:55 am (Uncategorized)

So I ordered my new electric scooter from Scooters-Store.com and it’s on its way! I decided to go with the X-360 X-treme electric scooter in black. I bought my scooter from Scooters-Store.com since they offer a guaranty and even a chance to win an MP3 player. It’s a beautiful scooter with the seat attached and a trunk box for all my stuff. I decided on the electric scooter since it would be such a quiet scooter and it’s the environmentally-friendly scooter choice without all those nasty pollutants. And imagine all the money I’ll be saving on gas! I can’t wait to ride around town on my new scooter. Once it arrives (hopefully this Friday), the initial charge takes about 6-8 hours. Then, I’ll be cruising around town visiting all my friends and showing off my new scooter. I’m so excited to see it in person and to learn to ride. It will go about 20 mph, so it’s perfect for riding around the neighborhood and even on short errands. How cute and urban!
